Your computer crashed. Don’t hit it, please. Don’t get mad and don’t throw it out. Get away from it. That’s right – take a break. Cool off. Yes, it’s very frustrating. I know. Been there, done that.
What a pain! That’s what it was for me. Both of my computers crashed almost simultaneously. The laptop was a little over a year old; the desktop was about 1.5 years old at the time. As a matter of fact, you can see both of my hard drives on the picture.
It was kind of like a ‘vacation’ for me: I called all my friends, watched TV more then I usually do, cooked something new. It was fun. I had no choice: there was no computer in the house and I could not go ahead with my project.
It was a big loss for me: I had to pay for two new disks; I lost 50 % of my data. On top of that, I was told by the technician that I did not need security software. The guy that fixed my computers gave me free software. He said it was good. I did not bother to find out what kind of software that was and why he thought it was good. Guess what that did to both of my computers. That’s right, they got infected with viruses very fast. Now I know: it was not good at all.
Of course, I knew very well that I had to back up my computer. But I procrastinated and procrastinated and … You got the picture. At that point I bought an external drive. I could plug it in and backup my computer. I remember I paid close to $130.00 at that time. It was good for a while. Looking back, at that point I had to start using Mozy.
As time went by, I understood that I needed more space on my computer to store backups. I found the solution to my problem: free backups provided by the best company, Mozy. I’ve been using their services for over a year now. For me the service is free for a while. My database grew fast.
Mozy gives you 2 GB free storage – huge amount of space. If that amount of space is sufficient for your backup, you can have it for free now. Sign up for Mozy

Backing up data is a big deal these days. My laptop charger broke (damn Dell!!!), so i haven’t been able to use my primary computer for over a week. Fortunately, I backed up all my docs, music, pics, videos, etc onto an external hard drive about 2 weeks prior. I am so glad I did! Mozy sounds like a great place to go if you’re not backing up audio or video!

You can back up files of any type or size with only a few exceptions. Audio and video files are eligible for backups. The amount of data that you can backup is limited to the amount of space that you purchased, once you used your free 2 GB, if it ever comes to this point.
Especially when you are getting referral $ from mozy… nice

Yes, I will receive $1.00 if the person signs up. Can you see me getting rich this way? That would not happen. I need to put much more efforts into getting rich.
If you don’t sign up for free backup and don’t use the service, here is what you are facing.
If you get hard drive crash, you might lose all your data. If your business depends on your computer, you will stagnate your business. You will have to pay either for new computer or new hard drive. That’s minimum $150.00 – $200.00 in the case of a new hard drive. You will pay much more for a new computer. Just think about this: Mozy backs up almost every file type and provides complete security in terms of restoring your data. It can also encrypt your data to provide even more security for you. I’ve been a Mozy customer for close to 2 years. They never failed to back up my computer. Everything is done free of charge. I promote the service because I know how good this service is. It is simply the best.
